Sponsors

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” ~Aesop

As we begin this trip, Riding North by Motorbike is a swashbuckling privateer organization, answering to no one (and underfunded).  Our questionable leader has forgotten to send out letters, or make phone calls requesting sponsorships.  However, if you or your company makes a product that would lend itself well to use on this trip, please contact us.  We’d be happy to beat it up along the way.

Update (February 2010): Over the last couple months we’ve approached several suppliers and outdoor gear manufacturers to see if they’d offer a sponsorship of any type.  Below is a summary of some of the responses:

Twisted Throttle: My biggest sponsor to date.  When I told them what I was planning to do, they gave me free shipping on an order, a reflective sticker, a t-shirt and an ugly hat.  Awesome.  Thanks guys.  You run a quality shop!

Big Agnes Gear: They actually responded to me, which I thought was cool, even though “We have no opportunities for sponsorships or gear testers at this time.  However, we’ll let you know if any become available in the near future.”  I thought this was pretty cool.

MSR Gear: They also responded to me in a polite manner, which again, I thought was cool.  Same response as Big Agnes though.  Must be some sort of economic downturn going on…  Still, MSR makes great products.

Del Amo Motorsports: They sold me some O-Rings for my oil filter cap that were the wrong size.  This caused oil to leak all over my parking spot and much unhappiness when I had to clean up the mess.  However, they did put me in contact with my shipping agent, so they are due a certain amount of thanks for being helpful.

For anyone else who may feel moved to buy a poor traveler a meal, some gas, a tire, a place to stay or a beer or two, I’d be eternally grateful.
